Callie Curling Club is hiring a seasonal Assistant Ice Technician (part-time or full-time).
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of curling ice surfaces, including pebbling, scraping, nipping, and flooding
- Monitor and maintain ice conditions throughout daily play
- Perform regular ice maintenance and seasonal ice installation/removal
- Help maintain ice plant equipment and report any issues or repairs needed
- Help maintain proper temperature, humidity, and air quality in the ice shed
- Assist with setup and takedown for events, leagues, and bonspiels
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Qualifications
- Previous ice technician or arena experience is an asset but not required; training provided
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Physically capable of lifting, standing, and working in a cold environment
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are an asset
