Chief Engineer / Head Ice Technician

The Kelowna Curling Club is seeking a full-time seasonal Chief Engineer / Head Ice Technician. The Head Ice Technician is responsible for curling ice preparation and maintenance within proven parameters, and for providing guidance and training.

Duties include:

• Monitoring and reporting on equipment and ice conditions — Boss blade condition, rock running surface status, pebble head cleaning and maintenance, pebble water TDS, nip volume, humidity and temperatures, and arena fan operation — promoting consistency and uniformity.
• Maintaining open communication so historical experience is combined with current ice-making practices.
