About the Club
Established in 1917, the Leduc Curling Club is one of the longest-established facilities in Leduc, Alberta, and an integral part of the Leduc Recreation Centre. We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial General Manager / Promotions Manager to lead operations, drive growth, and enhance the club's culture.
The Opportunity
As General Manager, you'll be the face of the club, responsible for operations, programming, marketing, and community engagement. You'll work closely with the Board of Directors and a small team to deliver an exceptional member experience and position the club as a premier destination for curling and events.
Key Responsibilities

Club Operations & Administration: lead daily operations including league/event registration, communications, and member services; procure equipment and supplies; support the Board with administrative and strategic planning functions; monitor and assess club programs

Financial Management: develop and implement the annual budget and forecast; manage financial software (QuickBooks, Curling IO); provide monthly financial reporting to the Board

Programming & Member Engagement: develop inclusive programs (Junior Curling, Learn to Curl, recreational leagues); organize clinics, theme nights and community events; launch a New Member Welcome Program and year-round communications strategy

Marketing & Promotions: create and execute campaigns to grow membership and event bookings; manage website, newsletters and social media; build a strong brand through storytelling and content

Revenue Development: identify new revenue streams including partnerships and facility rentals; develop pricing strategies; promote the club as a venue for corporate events, banquets and community functions

Community & Professional Development: build partnerships with local schools, businesses and organizations; represent the club at industry events
Who You Are
- A proactive leader with experience in marketing, sales and event management, ideally in recreation or hospitality
- Passionate about community sport and inclusive, high-quality experiences
- Skilled in budgeting, volunteer coordination and digital communications; tech-savvy with booking and registration systems
- Curling experience is a strong asset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in curling program delivery or club operations
- ACP designation or willingness to obtain; NCCP Competition Coach Certification (preferred)
- Strong organizational and relationship-building skills; experience in amateur sport or not-for-profit environments
Must Haves
- Must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Leduc, Alberta area. This is an in-person operational role; remote work is not available
- Flexible work hours across mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends, particularly during the curling season (August to March). The position averages ~40 hours/week with seasonal flexibility
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application; work permits are not sponsored for this role
- A meaningful connection to curling (player, volunteer, coach, or work-related role) OR a strong background in sport facility/program management with a genuine interest in curling
