Melville Curling Club is currently seeking an Ice Technician/Ice Maker for the upcoming curling season. Our 4-sheet club hosts many competitive events, bonspiels, and league curling.
Responsibilities
- Install ice for curling in November and remove the ice at the end of March
- Responsible for the daily preparation, maintenance, and care of the ice surface
- Prepare the ice prior to each game
- Work flexible hours including week nights and weekends
- Maintain ice equipment throughout the curling season
Credentials
- Previous Ice Technician experience is an asset
- Ice Technician training/certification is an asset; club-funded courses available
- Ability to work independently and take direction
- Excellent communication skills; ability to train and work with volunteers
- Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, pushing) and work in cold environments
- Must provide a Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check
