Broomfitters sells curling equipment (shoes, brooms, grippers, sliders, apparel and replacement parts) to curlers, clubs and ice makers across the U.S. 

We acquired Dakota Curling Supplies in 2025, and our Burnsville flagship store and warehouse is where curlers come to get fitted and where many of our online orders ship from.

We're a small team, so everyone pitches in. Our busiest stretch runs from the start of the season through the winter, peaking in December.

The role

We're hiring a part-time, seasonal Sales Associate for our Burnsville store, running from November through about March. Most of your time is on the sales floor helping curlers find the right gear; when orders pile up, you'll also help pick, pack and ship them from the warehouse.

You don't need to know curling to start. We'll teach you the equipment, and if you already curl or work on club ice, even better.

What you'll do

On the sales floor (most of the job)

• Greet customers and help new and experienced curlers choose shoes, brooms, grippers, sliders and accessories
• Fit curling shoes and explain the differences between products honestly and clearly
• Ring up sales and in-store pickups on our point-of-sale system
• Answer the store phone and simple customer questions
• Restock shelves, keep displays tidy, and help keep the store looking great

In the warehouse (as needed)

• Pick, pack and label online orders for UPS pickup
• Pack brooms and long items in their custom boxes
• Receive and unpack supplier shipments, check them against packing lists, and put stock away
• Help with inventory counts

What we're looking for

Required

• Friendly, patient and comfortable talking with customers, including people brand new to the sport
• Reliable and on time
• Comfortable learning simple software (point of sale, shipping labels)
• Careful with details when packing orders and counting stock
• Able to stand for a full shift and lift and carry boxes up to 50 lb

Nice to have

• Curling experience as a player, coach or volunteer
• Prior retail, sporting goods or customer service experience
• Warehouse, shipping or packing experience

Extra bonus

• Experience making or maintaining curling ice
