The Burlington Golf and Country Club is one of Canada's top private all-season golf clubs, with a diverse membership of 1,500 members. Founded in 1922, Burlington is a year-round private club offering golf, curling, dining and social amenities.
Position Summary
The Curling Coordinator oversees and maintains the Curling program, acting as a liaison between members and management. This is a hands-on role during League play, backing up the Curling Professional for teaching various programs. Seasonal position, September through April.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between curling members/committee and Club Management
- Provide guidance and support to league convenors; assist with team balancing, schedule changes and disputes
- Solicit ice branding partnerships and manage the sponsorship program
- Review curling player "promotions" to ensure players are in the appropriate league
- Oversee ice rentals and coordinate booking time
- Assist with draw management and playoff scheduling
- Work the floor on League Nights
- Welcome and orient new curling members
- Promote curling programs and events
- Develop program curriculum and provide curling instruction, including the Jr Program
- Plan and execute bonspiels and events
- Oversee curling volunteers
Work Hours
Must be able to work all shifts (days, evenings and weekends). Hours staggered based on the weekly schedule.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of curling experience (extracurricular or professional)
- NCCP Teaching credentials or previous teaching experience a strong asset
- Must be Vulnerable Sector cleared
- 2+ years of administration or customer service experience
